Welding question need help?

I need to know the best or simplest way to weld 1/8" round steel rods together. I have all the angles cut but have never welded before. These are not supporting any weight but need them to be fairly strong. Right now I gave only a propane torch. I am trying to make a picture frame, rectangle with curved rods in the center of the frame. Is there some way to do it without a mig, tig or other machines? I have tried JB weld and low temp silver brazing rods but it seems to be just coating it. If I need to buy a fairly cheap machine or if there is another method please let me know, thanks a lot!!!
